Located around 30 miles north of Birmingham, west of I- 65, Stony Lonesome OHV Park has 1456
acres of unique trails that are part of
Collman County Parks and Recreation
in Alabama. ATV/UTV, dirt bike and
rock-crawling trails range from easy,
moderate to expert, and many are so
steep and gnarly that only Ultra- 4 rock
racers can climb them. There are 150
miles of trails in very hilly terrain with
lots of rock ledges, and whole sections
of trail are grouped together for ATVs
and UTVs, dirt bikes and mountain
bikes, and Jeeps and Ultra- 4 4x4s.
We went there with Yamaha and had
a blast in the YXZ1000R SS Special
Edition 2 UTVs modified with GYTR’s
Torque-Assist Gearing kit, 30-inch
Motoclaw tires and more.
Alabama’s premier public OHV area
Motocross-style short courses can be connected to the big oval track
for longer laps, and the park also holds dirt bike Hare Scrambles
rounds on its many trails.
Stony Lonesome OHV Park was a hunting club until 2008, but now
it’s Alabama’s premier OHV area that’s a regular venue for UTV
short-course and rock-bouncing competitions.
