The Scrambler XP 1000 and 850
sport 4x4 ATVs are powered by single-overhead-cam, eight-valve, inline twins.
The 89-horsepower 1000 has power
steering, Fox Podium X piggyback
reservoir shocks, alloy wheels and a dual
exhaust system. Power steering isn’t
available on the 77-horsepower 850. It
comes with preload-adjustable shocks,
steel wheels and a single exhaust.
NEW 499cc SPORTSMAN
The new Sportsman 450 is powered
by a 500cc, single-overhead-cam
engine with 32 horsepower. It has a fully
automatic transmission and independent
front and rear suspension. A power-steering model is also available. The
Sportsman 450 starts at $5999. The
Sportsman 450 EPS is $6899.

1000 LEADS SPORTSMAN
Polaris boosts the Sportsman XP 1000’s
output to 90 horsepower for 2017 with three-mode throttle control, including performance,
standard and work settings. The Sportsman
XP 1000, the 78-horsepower Sportsman 850
SP and Sportsman 850 also get sporty new
bodywork with better sight lines and a new
sculpted seat. A new chassis with higher
approach angles and arched A-arms increase
clearance in rugged terrain. The 1000’s new
digital gauge features Bluetooth connectivity.
The Sportsman 1000 starts at $11,999. The
850 SP is $10,299 and the 850 is $8799.
