WHAT IT IS:
GBC Motorsports grew out of
Greenball Corporation, and GBC
was the first aftermarket ATV tire
manufacturer and DOT-approved
ATV tire in the USA. Now in their 23rd
year, GBC has a large share of the
UTV market, with the Dirt Commander
coming as OEM equipment on some
UTVs and the Kanati Mongrel being
a replacement-tire favorite. GBC
expands the Kanati line with the new
Terra Master, which offers owners the
ability to mount them for hard-terrain or
Terra Masters are molded with A
and B sides. Mount them with the A
sidewall out and they’re best in soft-to-intermediate conditions. Mount the
B sidewall out and the lug pattern is
better for intermediate-to-hard terrain.
They feature a non-directional design
for excellent traction and response in all
directions and conditions. Terra Masters
are also DOT-approved.
These steel-belted radials have a
10-ply rating for a strong carcass and
greater wear resistance. Asymmetrical
tread patterns are designed to
combat a wider range of terrains and
WHO’S IT FOR?
Anyone with a high-performance
UTV and want to upgrade from the
lightweight, low-ply OEM tires most
UTVs get at the factory. Terra Masters
will come in 27x9R12, 27x11R12,
27x9R14, 27x10R14, 27x11R14,
28x10R14, 30x10R14, 30x10R15,
31x10R14 and 32x10R15, so they’ll fit
most any UTV, including Aces.
We installed our 32x10R15 Terra
Masters on 15x6 OMF beadlock rims
with the B side out for intermediate-to-hard terrain and put them on our 2017
Polaris RZR XP Turbo Fox Edition. They
had a really rounded footprint on the
narrow OMF wheels; we’re going to get
some 15x7 wheels for further testing.
While recommended pressure is 20 psi,
we went with 14 psi all around.
We tackled some of our most
technical trails around Dove Springs,
and the Terra Masters worked
flawlessly. They have great forward
bite, which is really needed on rocky,
steep trails like PC107. They steered
great on side-hill trails PC87 and PC79,
and they also worked very well in soft
sand washes. They didn’t slip one bit
climbing steep rock walls, and the rears
slipped predictably when we drifted
faster turns on silt-covered hardpack.
We then hammered them mercilessly in
the rock-infested Last Chance Canyon.
From initial testing with the hard-pattern B side out, we like the Terra
Master’s overall handling and traction
better than the Kanati Mongrels,
especially in sand. The larger 32-inch
tires also roll over nasty rocks and
rock ledges on uphills better, and they
provide more ground clearance. The
Terra Masters are great on pavement,
hard-pack dirt, silt-covered hardpack,
decomposed granite and deep sand.
We’ll do a long-term test with wider
wheels and report on the A-side-out
We chose 32x10R15s and mounted them on OMF
15x6 beadlock wheels with the B side mounted out
for hard terrain.
GBC Motorsports’ all-new Kanati Terra Master allows owners of high-performance UTVs to tune the tires
to a wider variety of conditions, depending on which side is mounted out.
