Remove the 12mm hex head drain bolt
on the bottom of the dry-sump oil tank
and let it drain into your catch can. When
it is finished draining, reinstall the drain bolt
and tighten to 12 foot-pounds.
Pour 2 liters of fresh
oil into the dry-sump
tank and let it sit for
a few minutes. For
this service, we used
SXS engine oil, which
is specially formulated
for use in today’s high-performance UTVs.
Reinstall the oil fill cap
on top of the valve
cover and the dry-sump tank dipstick.
Start the engine, letting it
idle for a few seconds. Blip
the throttle to 2000–3000 rpm
three times to get the oil to
circulate, then shut the engine
off. Remove the dipstick and
pour another 1.25 liters of
fresh oil into the tank. Start the
engine again, and let it run for
30–45 seconds. Then, shut it
off and let it sit for a minute.
Check the oil using the dipstick
in the dry-sump tank and fill to
the correct amount. ❏
