into the hole, and the Pro Xtreme end
cap makes it easier to pull the tool out.
The metal tip of the plug makes sure it
stays inside the tire. Trim any access
plug. Air it up, and resume the ride!
We really like the Dynaplug tubeless
tire repair kit. Dynaplug also makes an
Ultralite kit with an aluminum body with
plastic end caps and a Carbon Ultralite.
It’s a simple, no-mess system, but it
doesn’t work well on ripped sidewalls.
The plugs are thin, so they only work
for thorn and small nail punctures. One
nail-caused flat required three plugs to
stop all leakage. ❏
WHAT IT IS:
Dynaplug makes tire repair much
easier with its innovative, 12-volt
compressor (tested May 2015) and tire
repair kit. Its top-of-the-line Pro Xtreme
tubeless tire repair kit goes beyond its
Pro repair kit with an ergonomic end
cap that provides more surface area
for pushing the insertion tool into the
tire up to 1 1/8 inches. It can even be
tapped with a hammer. Although the
five-chamber compartment includes a
reamer, the metal-tipped inserts and
insertion tool make it easy to plug holes
made by thorns, spikes and small nails.
Each kit comes with eight rubber plugs.
The 6061 aluminum or 303 stainless
steel sleeve has five compartments for

the reamer and four plugs and insertion
tubes. The business end has a knurled
cap that accepts the reamer or ready-made plugs/inserts, and the other
threaded end is compatible with the Pro
Edition kit. The Pro Xtreme’s oversized
end cap is more ergonomic for tough
tires, and it has O-rings for keeping the
inside dry and clean. The plugs have a
copper pointed end for easy insertion
and extraction of the insert sleeve.
The hardest part of using the Pro
Xtreme tubeless tire repair kit is finding
the hole in the tire, but sudsy water
makes it easy to find via escaping
bubbles. Remove the nail or insert the
reamer to clean any debris, and then
swap with the plug/insertion tube. Press
Dynaplug’s Pro Xtreme tubeless tire
repair kit includes three insertion
tubes, eight tire-repair plugs, one
reamer, one air stopper and one
pipe cleaner in a handy, ergonomic
tool. The pointed metal tip on each
plug is ingenious.
