LE weighs 339 pounds less than the
Jagged X LE EPS.
WHICH XP 900 FASTER?
The Walker Evans RZR is faster.
The short-wheelbase Walker Evans LE
has a pounds-per-horsepower ratio
of 13.52:1, while the long-wheelbase
Jagged X LE has a ratio of 16.27:1.
Even on runs where the Jagged X
pilot got the jump out of the hole, the
lighter WER XP would catch and pass
the Jagged X on the top end. Even
though the Jagged X LE has better
traction in the dunes, because of the
Bighorn rubber, the short-wheelbase
XP wins vertical drags. The lighter RZR
XP is also quicker from turn to turn and
through the corners.
WHAT ABOUT DELIVERY AND TRACTION?
The CVT clutching is quick yet
smooth on both machines
from a standing start, and
they have identical drivelines
and delivery. The Walker
Evans LE ITP Bajacross
tires and Jagged X Maxxis
Bighorns (both 26-inchers)
offer similar traction for
rock crawling. Test drivers
mentioned that they would
want to put 26x9-12 front
wheels and tires on the rear
of the Jagged X for short-
course racing so that the
rear end would drift out more
easily at speed. The Walker
Evans LE dances around at
speed on cross-grain terrain,
and the EPS helps keep the
rear end behind the front.
WHICH WER SUSPENSION IS
SUPERIOR?
They are both excellent.
Polaris did a great job tuning
the Walker Evans Racing
shocks on both XP LEs,
and they deliver a great ride
in all sorts of terrain. A few
clicks of the compression-adjuster knobs tune the ride
for various conditions and to
compensate for bed loads
and the like. Bottoming
resistance is good as
well, but the extra weight
on the Jagged X LE (339
pounds) along with its longer
wheelbase (103 inches
versus 81. 4 inches) give it
more stability at high speed,
which makes it a better
desert sled.
WHICH XP LE HANDLES
BETTER?
The Walker Evans LE
handles most situations
better, but the Jagged X has
better straight-line stability.
Short wheelbases are better
for woods, short-course
racing, most rock-crawling
situations and duning, while
the long-wheelbase Jagged
X is better in desert and
undulating, high-speed
terrain.
WHICH IS THE BETTER DUNER?
The Walker Evans short-wheelbase
LE is lighter and faster in deep sand,
but it tends to nosedive more on
dune jumps. The Jagged X LE does,
however, have WER beadlock wheels.
Take the time to clamp the outer bead
of each tire under the beadlock ring,
and the Bighorn tires can be aired
down without the risk of de-beading.
All RZR XP 900s get a new bed without the port for the external oil tank, as the new wet-sump ProStar
88 engine no longer needs it. Ducting is large to flow lots of cooling air.
The metal roof is a Jagged X RZR option, while the custom seats, doors with custom graphics and nets,
locking rear storage bins, Jagged X extended cage, Maxxis Bighorn tires and WER beadlock wheels are all
part of the Jagged X LE package.
