The SXS Performance bead breaker tool looks and works a
lot like the old tried-and-true James Lucky bead breaker. The
inexpensive JL bead breaker was our favorite design for years. Its
only flaw was that it did not expand big enough to break 12- and
14-inch UTV wheel beads. The JL version is no
longer manufactured, but luckily for us, the SXS
Performance model is exactly like it and accepts up
to 20-inch wheels. See www.sxsperformance.com,
or call them at (855) SXS-PERF. It sells for $89.
The Motion Pro
CV BANDING TOOL
BeadPro FS is one of the
most innovative tire tools we’ve

If your ATV or UTV has CV axles, at some point you will need to rebuild
or at least replace the torn CV boots. Replacing a boot is not rocket science, but you’re
going to need a banding tool to tighten the new bands once installed. The EPI banding tool
makes installation simple and keeps out contaminants. See www.epiperformance.com.
Standard price is $25, and the ratcheting version is $60.
CLUTCH COMPRESSION TOOL
The EPI clutch compression tools allow
for a single person to compress clutches for
service work, to remove and install helixes, to
change springs, and use for maintenance. See
www.epiperformance.com. Price is $90.
Removing the flywheel off of any ATV’s
engine requires a specific puller to remove it
from the crank. Motion Pro sells and stocks
nearly any puller you could ever need, and
at a reasonable price. The pullers are made
of hardened steel, and prices range from
$9 to $47 depending on the application.
