Lanse Chournos (left) and Jared Livingston conduct
a daily drivers’ meeting, and dozens of volunteers
guide the 17 different rides on area trails. Be sure
to set aside May 14–17, 2014, for the next Rally
on the Rocks!
Here’s the Rally on the Rocks crew and a mountain
of swag for one of the many raffles, with half the
ticket sales going to the Sagebrush Rebellion, which
is fighting to keep Utah’s public lands open to all.
For the first time at the Rally on the Rocks, UTV races
were held by Dirt Riot. Brian Bush was second behind
Cory Nyeren (Pol) in the two-hour pro endurance race,
which was set up at Area BFE, a private riding area
south of Moab.
Rally promoters expanded the track for Arctic Cat, Can-Am, Kymco and aftermarket demo rides. Participants put more than 2000 miles on the stock and
modified Wildcats on this short course!
Most of the guided daily rides get a police escort
to and from the trailhead, which is a lot of fun. A
few rides require trailering to remote trailheads,
and participants may vote to include new rides that
are up to an hour away from the Old Spanish Trail
