Trail riders know that reverse is very important for getting out of tight situations, and the Yamaha Raptor 700 and Kawasaki KFX450R are the two largest sport quads to come with reverse gearing. What’s really wild is that the base-model Raptor 700, with its non-adjustable front shocks, is $600 less than the KFX450R, and
the 700R, with highly adjustable piggyback shocks, is $200 less than the Kawasaki. Both are trail-width sport ATVs,
but which is the better all-around trail (and sometimes track) machine? We took them to the desert, Dumont Dunes
and woods to find out.
