IMG Motorsports has heavy-duty tie-rods for
the YXZ1000R, and also does Nelson’s race
cage, doors, roof and safety nets.
For reliability and less roost damage,
Nelson uses CBR’s radiator relocate kit
with high-flow aluminum radiator with
a 12-inch Spal cooling fan, mounting
hardware and hoses for $750. He runs a
coarse screen in front for more protection
from mud, roost and rocks.
Lucas Oil prohibits long-travel
kits, so Nelson uses the OEM
YXZ arms, which are pretty
stout, with aftermarket Fox
2. 5 Podium RC2 shocks with
Kashima coating that were
valved by M&M Motorsports.
Axles and CVs are upgraded
with Cryoheat cryogenic
treatment, along with the
